Update
I’ve been a bit lax with updates lately, so here goes….
I think we are pretty well settled here now. All the stuff is back in place and Winford now looks like home.
There are still a few things to get sorted of course; the main one being a broadband connection! The “marker” problem I mentioned in an earlier post has now been cleared and my order for an ADSL connection is underway (at last). Interestingly, The Independant has picked up on the same problem and, today, has an article on it. Hopefully it’ll all be up and running in the next weeek or so.
I am also looking forward to getting a proper shower installed, the one we have is a standard cubicle, about 3ft square and far too small for me. Every day I bang my head on its doorway and the shelf when I do manage to squeeze in! Not a pretty sight….
If anyone knows where I can find a remote controlled lightswitch I’d be pleased to hear from them. We have plenty of sockets in the house but the electrician seems to have forgotten sensibly placed lightswitches. It’s going to be a big job to chase out walls etc to instal new switches so I thought remote control might be the answer, unfortunately, all I can find are remote dimmer switches; not too useful when I want full light first time.
Other than that, everything is fine and we love it here.

Nice thought but, stumbling around in the dark is bad enough without a candle and a box of matches!
