That Road Charging email we all got…

I guess, like most people, you received a copy of an email asking for your support by signing a petition about road charging at the Downing Street website.

It seems that the 1.4 million 1,588,702 1,689,932 1,794,174 1,791,942 (+) people who signed may have rattled the cage of those in charge. The London Standard is reporting that Tony Blair will be emailing all those who signed.

Interestingly the petition website’s Privacy Policy states:

We will only use the information you provide us for this purpose, and, unless you ask us not to, to write to you a maximum of two times about the issues raised in the petition. You may also receive a maximum of two messages from the creator of the petition.

Is email the same as writing?

Update:
I got the email this morning – I suspect like many others, my local spam protection, SpamBayes, gave it an 84% spam rating and it was moved to the suspect folder. Lucky I checked eh?
More later I suspect……
