Well he finally did it!
On Friday I was picked to play in the weekly North Wilts Golf Club swindle in a four with my father. He’s now in his 75th year and has been playing there for some 30 odd years. Unfortunately we were picked in opposing teams but none the less I was there when he managed a hole in one on the sixth, a nice little 103 yard par 3 right at the top of the course and often considered by the locals to be a card wrecker.
His face was a picture as this was his first “ace”, so far…. and although it cost him a bottle of Scotch on the bar in the clubhouse he still made a profit as he managed to pick up £57 from the swindle’s Ace Club.
Well done Dad, I hope you manage many more.
