Outlook Autofill Utility
Outlook provides a neat autofill facility when completing email addresses, all very useful until somebody changes their email address. As the system populates the autofill from a list of previously sent messages, the old email address keeps on showing up.
I had exactly this happen today and thought it was probably about time to give that list a thorough clean out (I’ve never done it before!). Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be an easy “built in” method to do it.
As usual a quick Google found this free application which solves the problem – The application allows the autofill file, usually stored at:
c:\Documents and Setting\[Your Profile]\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.NK2,
Then you can just delete the entries you no longer require. As usual you can select multiple addresses using ctrl or shift click.
Outlook must be shutdown for this application to work correctly.
