Family news

I suspect I have had a bit of a breakthrough this morning.

For about 18 months now I have been researching the Curd family and have managed to gather a stack of information regarding their movements across the country and their various occupations. Cabinet making/carpentry seems to have been a major trade, at least amonst the male line, particularly when they lived in Bethnal Green and Shoreditch, but I had been unable to find out exactly where they worked and what they made.

Well today, and completely out of the blue, I received a message from someone who reckons he has a cabinet made by one of my ancestors which was given to his sister as a present on her wedding day!

Now I just have to sit back and wait for this kind person to reply to my mail asking, well almost insisting, he gets in touch properly rather than via Genes Reunited so that he can, at least, send me a photo.

By the way – still no sign of comment spam.
