iPhone weirdness

Now, Sue’s iPhone 3GS has a very strange problem. It’s been there since day one we think and even the recent iOS4 update didn’t cure it. Symptoms: The homepage icons don’t go into edit or wobble mode when they are held down. It works fine on mine but try as I might holding any of [...]

iPhone update iOS4

Although I only use an iPhone 3G the suggestion from Apple this week was to upgrade to the latest operating system iOS4. iTunes sync made the whole operation pretty straightforward, if longwinded. After about 20mins-half an hour of data thrashing between the phone and the Mac, I was able to use a few of the [...]

WordPress 3.0 Upgrade

Well that again was very painless….. The latest WP upgrade has been installed and, as I managed to post this, there doesn’t appear to have been a problem. If you do notice anything odd when visiting, feel free to let me know.

Spam Solution?

Looking back on this blog a recurring theme has been email spam and my attempts to clear my inbox of this plague. This blog uses built in WordPress tools to ensure that I don’t see any spam posted in the comments but keeping control of my mail client’s filters isn’t quite so easy – I [...]

iPhone test post

Just trying out the iPhone WordPress app. It’s a bit odd not having a full screen view available but other than that, it all seems easy enough. I presume I can add photos somehow but I’ll leave that for another day!

Windows 7 Remote Desktop

Anyone who’s been following me moaning on about the lack of Remote Desktop hosting in the Home Premium versions of Vista and Windows 7 will be pleased to know that those very clever folk over at The Green Button seem to have cracked the problem. Take a look at this post, the discussion there is [...]

Upgrade time again!

Just installed the latest upgrade for WordPress… All looks OK for the moment… but then of course it always does. Fingers crossed.

Adding Images to Posts

The single thing which causes most problems for the WordPress users I know is uploading and positioning images in their posts. Hopefully I have found a solution which will make things quite a bit easier – it’s called “Freebie Images” and is a WP plugin – you can get it here. I just installed it [...]

Broadband Speed with BT

Out here in the sticks I have often moaned about the speed of my BT connection. Now I have proof thanks to the survey I have been helping with. About a year ago I applied to help with a UK broadband speed survey at SamKnows, I now have access to the results and can see [...]
