Yesterday three of us were lucky enough to be invited to attend the Space: 08 event at the Barbican Centre.
The highlight of the event for me was the Masterclass conducted by Roger Shawyer the Director of SPR Ltd. After introducing himself and explaining his background in various satellite launch products, Roger went on the explain [...]

I had to go over to St Lawrence at the weekend and duly entered the address details into my (previously!) trusted Tomtom GPS only to be warned that I may be driving to an area where they drive on the right!
Unless there is something I don’t know about the Southern part of the Island, the [...]

I’ve had a batch of calls this week from people who can’t get their PCs started.
It seems the last few days of warmer weather are causing a few problems. Of course it may be a coincidence but I can’t remember 4 hard drives failing in as many days. My suspicion is that the relatively sudden [...]

I had no idea what SteamPunk was when I heard it mentioned the other day, so I decided to investigate.
After a quick look around I came across The Streampunk Workshop, there’s some great work on there and it’s well worth 20 minutes of your valuable time.

Yesterday I visited a lady with a few internet connection and PC problems. The PC stuff was fairly trivial with just the normal spyware confusions etc but the networking problems were something rather new to me.
The ISP involved was AOL, and they provided a Netgear DG834G, 54Mbps Wireless ADSL router as part of their package. [...]

Garan has beaten me to it with a recent posting on his blog. He writes about some very important news for the majority of UK internet users.
If you want the internet to remain the relatively open and free place it is today and you want your browsing habits to remain personal, I suggest you read [...]

Back in December 2002, I bought a 1994 (M) Toyota Carina E GLi automatic estate car for £1750.
It was a real bargain at the time, as apart from fairly high mileage (132,000), it was in great condition and all those miles, pretty much, were “up to temperature” motorway miles.
Since then I have serviced it myself [...]

Been called to fix three PCs recently, all of them displayed the same fault and that had a common cause - each of the machines was being used while standing on a laminate floor!
At first I would have thought that a hard clean surface was as good a place as any to put the things [...]

I suppose this is a case of severe cold war paranoia - the BBC website has a very interesting section about the underground complex beneath Corsham in Wiltshire - take a look at it here.
The very fact that all this has been revealed must now mean I can freely talk about going there many years [...]
